The ceremony to honor the recent Birkhauser "Annales Henri Poincaré" Prize winners will take place during the conference. It has been schedule on Wednesday July 29 at 4:00 PM following the Coffee Break of the afternoon.
The conference “Inverse Problems in the Physical Sciences” IP-Phys2015 will be held at the Center for Mathematical Modeling in Santiago, Chile, August 3rd – 5th, 2015. This is a satellite conference of the “XVIII International Congress on Mathematical Physics” ICMP2015, to be held also in Santiago, from July 27th to August 1st, 2015 (http://www.icmp2015.cl/).
The goal of this satellite conference is to take advantage of the ICMP2015 conference, to create new connections and to enrich the interactions among researchers in the mathematical inverse problems and the mathematical physics communities, including imaging modalities, seismic imaging, cloaking, transformation optics and inverse problems in astronomy and astrophysics.
We expect this interaction to be particularly fruitful for young researchers and postgraduate students working in these fields.
Place: Center for Mathematical Modeling CMM (Santiago, Chile)
Organizing Committee: G. Uhlmann (UW), M. Courdurier (PUC), A. Osses (U. Chile)
Date: August 3-5, 2015
A satellite meeting on "Operator Algebras and Quantum Physics" is being organized at the University of Sao Paulo. The workshop will concentrate on new developments in the theory of operator algebras and their applications in quantum statistical mechanics
and quantum field theory. Applications of the renormalization group
as well as convex analysis will be further topics covered. This workshop will take place from Friday, July 17, 2015 and end on Thursday (at lunch time), July 23, 2015 at USP.
The week before ICMP 2015, the conference "Dynamical Systems", is being organized by Godofredo Iommi and Mario Ponce, at PUC, Santiago de Chile, July 22-24, 2015.
